Who is Ty?

If I sent you a query, you’re probably wondering about this, right now.

Tyler Duggan is one of those aging millennials who can’t resist adding an inflection of commentary on the world around him into each of his pieces of writing. His stories compile ideas on crippling medical debt to seeking out mentorship and praise in odd places. There are tales about meeting a time traveler who speaks another language but becomes your friend all the same, to renting your first home with your sweetheart that just happens to be above a psychopath who wants you dead; Tyler’s fictional writing reflects the rewards and consequences of everyday decisions. These pieces are inspired by the life of a person born with an adult congenital heart disorder in the mid-’80s, so the millennial worldview of fighting the classic uphill battle is prevalent in each piece. Each story is diametrically apart in tone, characters, setting, and hopefully style, but they all are linked to their themes of consequence.

This infatuation with Consequence is derived from his time in and out of hospitals during the four open-heart surgeries that he received before he was even eleven years old. Naturally, these anxiety-ridden experiences are great fodder for writing. Tyler also believes in social responsibility and empathetic diversity and inclusion, at all costs. He looks forward to being in an environment with managers, agents, editors, artists, writers, and more of all backgrounds in an inclusive environment.
